Hi! I'm Shannon Fish and I want to thank you for visiting my website. You might know me from the Golf Channel's Big Break Atlantis reality TV program, the Symetra and Cactus Tours, the University of Texas or Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas.
Regardless of what brought you here...welcome! I'm happy you made it.
Since turning pro in 2011, I've been working my way to the LPGA Tour through the Symetra and Cactus Tours. So far this year, I have two top-10's and three top-20 finishes on the Cactus Tour while making two of five cuts on the Symetra Tour. Wrist surgery last October sidelined me for a while, but I was finally cleared to practice in January.
During the rehab and offseason, I spent a lot of time working on my physical fitness and mental game. Once I returned to competition, I wasn't too surprised when I came out flat at the beginning of the year. I was rusty, but I've shot some good numbers and I’m continually working to putting three solid rounds together in the same week.
While I was injured, I started a charity called "Birdies For Boots" through the Boot Campaign. I'm proud to say that 100% of the funds raised go toward helping wounded warriors. Also while I was recovering, I ran in a 5K with Marcus Luttrell, former Navy SEAL and author of "Lone Survivor".
Thanks to my experience on Big Break Atlantis, I've had the opportunity to play in several celebrity golf tournaments and help me become involved in a few different charities, including the Boot Campaign and Cowboys Who Care Foundation with Cowboy Bill Martin.
I learned a lot from Big Break, and the knowledge and experience have helped me pursue my professional career on the Symetra Tour. The importance of mental toughness and a sound short game helped me to realize that I did want to pursue golf as a profession.
I was raised in Houston but currently live out of a suitcase on the Symetra Tour. It has been tough acclimating myself to the Symetra Tour in my rookie year. It's a challenge to figure out travel arrangements, make new friends, find a travel partner, manage my expenses and fighting the loneliness of life on the road. When I do get back to Houston, I still play out of Champions Golf Club.
I'm looking forward to finishing my 2013 season on the Symetra Tour and heading to LPGA Qualifying School.
